I hope everyone has recovered from their 4th of July festivities! There is nothing like a mid-week day off from work, but also July 4th should never again be on a Wednesday because going back to work on Thursday was truly the worst thing. I mean, it was like getting a Saturday with no Sunday. Anyways, on with my musings –
1 – I ate like I was a trashcan last week (just shoveling it in, people), so this morning’s workout made me feel like a dumpster fire and now I regret all of my decisions. Except the cookies, I will never regret the cookies.
2 – This NC weather has me swooning the past few days with the temperature never going above 83. I went for a run this morning and it was 57 degrees outside, y’all. Be.still.my.heart. I am enjoying it to the fullest because I know the oppression that is known as 95 degrees with a heat index of “feels like your skin is melting off” will return soon.
3 – My new favorite book is called Body Love (and no, it’s not cheesy like it sounds) by Kelly LeVeque. Amazon’s description is: “Kelly LeVeque shares her secrets for losing weight, attuning ourselves to our bodies’ needs, and freeing ourselves from food drama in this essential wellness guide, which includes 88 delectable recipes!”
This also sounds cheesy but I promise you it isn’t! It’s very informative and inspiring and is based off of actual science instead of “this one study said that eggs are bad for you so I’m not going to ever have eggs again.” type of diet. Anyways, just read it! You won’t regret it.
4 – After posting about my To Be Read list a few weeks ago, I have had a lot of book recommendations (KEEP EM COMING, FRIENDS) which fills me with pure joy. So much so, that I started a Goodreads account that you can see here. If there is one thing that I love more than books, its a checklist of books that I can cross off as I read. AKA I owe my soul to the person who created Goodreads. Well, not really, but I definitely owe them some chips and queso or something equally delightful.
5 – That’s all I’ve got for now, because I am still feeling like a dumpster fire. Hang in there, friends. The post holiday blues won’t defeat us this time.
